Cornwood Flowers

These terms apply to all purchases made through cornwoodflowers.com, by email, or in person at markets and events. By placing an order, you agree to the terms below.

Every item is hand-turned from wood and finished with a resin-cast cornflower grown in our own Lake District garden. Because each piece is handmade from a natural material, slight variations in grain, colour, and cornflower placement are normal and part of what makes it one of a kind — not a fault. Each piece carries our maker's mark on the base.

Items listed as ready-made are available for immediate purchase and are paid in full at the time of order. We aim to dispatch within 1–2 working days of payment. If a piece will take longer to reach you, we'll let you know when it will be available before you pay, so you can decide whether to go ahead.

Custom pieces are quoted individually based on size, design, and materials. To confirm a bespoke order:

• A quote will be provided by email following discussion of your requirements.
• A 50% deposit is required to begin work. This deposit is non-refundable once work has started, as it covers time, materials, and design.
• The remaining balance is due in full before your piece is dispatched or handed over.
• Lead times will be given at the time of quoting and can vary depending on design complexity and current order volume.

Payment is accepted by bank transfer or PayPal, arranged by email, or by card or cash at our market stands. Orders are only confirmed once payment (or deposit, for bespoke pieces) has been received.

Items can be posted (UK and international) or collected in person at a market stand or by prior arrangement. Postage costs will be confirmed at checkout or in your quote. We take care in packaging every piece, but please get in touch straightaway if something arrives damaged and we'll aim to put it right.

Please note our product and public liability insurance covers the UK only — international buyers should bear this in mind when ordering.

• Ready-made items: if you change your mind, please contact us within 14 days of receipt to arrange a return; the item should be unused and in its original condition. Postage costs for returns are the buyer's responsibility unless the item is proven to be faulty.
• Bespoke items: because these are made specifically for you, deposits are non-refundable once work has started. Before your final balance is requested, we'll send photos or a short video showing your finished piece — once you're happy with it and have approved it, the balance becomes due to proceed to dispatch. As the piece is made and approved to your specification, completed bespoke pieces cannot be returned for a change of mind. If a piece is faulty or not as described, please contact us and we'll aim to put it right.
• All items: returns for change of mind must be requested within 14 days of receipt — after this period we're unable to accept them. This is separate from your right to raise a genuine fault that only becomes apparent later (for example, after a couple of years); see "Care of your piece" below, as how a piece has been used and cared for in the meantime will always be taken into account.

Our pieces are finished by hand and are best kept away from prolonged direct sunlight, standing water, and extreme temperature changes to keep the wood and resin looking their best. Like any natural wood item, a piece's finish and condition depend partly on how it's used, displayed, and looked after over time — so ongoing care is always a factor, particularly for anything raised well beyond the 14-day return period. We're happy to advise on aftercare — such as oiling or refinishing — any time you need it, just get in touch.
